Rain98 Extended Demo Released for MIX Fall Showcase

Developer C#4R4CT3R has released an extended demo for the adult visual novel Rain98, timed with the MIX Fall Online Showcase 2026. This build expands significantly on previous previews by including the full introductory section and the entirety of the second chapter, offering players a deeper look into the narrative.

The demo features a new opening sequence set in a rainy apartment, where the protagonist interacts with the character Reina through existential dialogue and choices. Gameplay elements have been enhanced with animated CGs, visual effects, and additional minigames, including rhythm challenges and a digital pet system. Players can also engage in shopping mechanics to purchase items that influence interactions with Reina.

The release coincides with the game’s official announcement date, allowing the public to access the build via Steam. The updated version highlights improvements in localization and audio, providing a more polished experience compared to earlier test builds shown at Tokyo Game Show 2026.

Gematsu reported on October 16, 2026, that the Rain98 demo is now available.
