Avatar: The Last Airbender Movie Home Release Features Director Credit Error

The animated feature film Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender has officially launched on DVD and Blu-ray, marking its physical home-media debut. However, the release has been marred by a significant promotional error that mistakenly credits M. Night Shyamalan as the director instead of Lauren Montgomery. The announcement also incorrectly lists the cast from Shyamalan's 2010 live-action adaptation, including Dev Patel and Cliff Curtis, rather than the voice actors for the new film.

This confusion likely stems from simultaneous physical releases, as Shyamalan’s movie debuted on 4K UHD on the same day. The official synopsis provided in the erroneous materials also belongs to the 2010 production. The correct film stars Eric Nam, Jessica Matten, and Steven Yeun, picking up with the original series' core cast more than a decade after the Hundred Year War. It is scheduled for a 4K UHD Steelbook release on February 9, 2027.
