Future GPX Cyber Formula ASURADA Short Announced for February 2027 Screening

Bandai Namco Filmworks has officially announced a new anime short titled Shin Seiki GPX Cyber Formula ASURADA, which will serve as a direct sequel to the 1998 Future GPX Cyber Formula Sin installment. The project is scheduled to screen in Japan starting on February 19, 2027, alongside an HD remastered movie edition of the compilation OVA Future GPX Cyber Formula: Early Days Renewal. Series director Mitsuo Fukuda oversees both the new short and the remastered release, while Hirokazu Hisayuki handles character design and Satoshi Shigeta serves as chief mechanical animation director. The production utilizes hand-drawn animation exclusively, avoiding computer-generated imagery entirely. Returning voice actors include Jun-ichi Kanemaru as Hayato Kazami, Kotono Mitsuishi as Asuka Sugo, and Shūichi Ikeda as Kyoshiro Nagumo. New vehicle designs by Shōji Kawamori feature the Zenith Asurada AKF-S0/G and Hō・Ōga AA-1 machines. Planning cooperation comes from MegaHouse, with full production and distribution handled by Bandai Namco Filmworks.
