Dead of the Brain Survival Horror Game Launches on Steam Oct. 30

Developer FairyTale and publisher FAKKU have launched the Steam page for Dead of the Brain, a cult classic survival horror title originally released in 1992. The game is scheduled to become available for purchase on October 30, offering players a chance to experience this early precursor to the modern genre ahead of Halloween.

Originally developed for systems including the PC-98 and FM Towns, the point-and-click adventure features quick-time events that add urgency to its zombie outbreak narrative. Players assume the role of Cole, whose friend Dr. Cooger’s resurrection serum causes the dead to rise with a hunger for brains. Despite receiving favorable reviews upon its initial release and spawning two sequels, the game has long been regarded as a schlocky but influential entry in the history of video games.
