Publisher ambr has unveiled a Steam store page and trailer for Laica, a first-person sci-fi survival horror title scheduled for release in 2027. Developed by Santa Studio, a venture established in 2023 by the University of Tokyo’s Faculty of Engineering under parent company Santa Sunrise, the game utilizes Unreal Engine technology.

Players awaken in HOME, a drifting space habitat, where they form a slow-burn bond with a solitary girl named Laica through shared meals and music. This domestic tranquility contrasts sharply with the exploration of dangerous station sectors inhabited by strange entities. As anomalies gradually erode reality, they infiltrate these quiet moments, eventually affecting Laica herself.

The narrative concludes based on player decisions that reveal the truth behind the world's decay. The store listing notes mature content featuring grotesque creatures, realistic bloodshed, psychological horror, and depictions of human remains.
