Court Rules Sanrio Didn’t Create Kuromi, but Dismisses Copyright Lawsuit Against Company
A Japanese court has ruled that Sanrio was not the original creator of Kuromi, officially recognizing animation studio Studio Comet as the character’s creator. However, despite this acknowledgment, the court dismissed the studio’s copyright infringement lawsuit against Sanrio.
