Solid-Gold Gholdengo Figure Goes on Sale in Japan

A solid 24-karat gold figure of the Pokémon Gholdengo is available for purchase in Japan at a price of 1.54 million yen, approximately US$9,700. Standing 6 centimeters tall and weighing 15 grams, the collectible is crafted entirely from precious metal rather than painted plastic to match the character's canonical composition. The item will be displayed at the Yokohama Grand Gold Exhibition, held from September 30 to October 5 at the Takashimaya department store in Yokohama.

The exhibition also features two life-size golden displays: a 50-centimeter Pikachu covered in roughly 200 sheets of gold leaf and a 120-centimeter Gholdengo adorned with approximately 730 sheets. These larger pieces are not for sale. The event showcases over 1,000 gold items from various artisans and offers free admission to the public.
