One Piece Anime Confirms Return in 2027 After Elbaph Arc

The One Piece anime will resume broadcasting new episodes in 2027, following the conclusion of its current run this year. The final episode for the calendar year aired on Fuji TV on Sunday, marking a pause before production resumes next year. This schedule aligns with a strategic shift announced by Toei Animation and producer Ryūta Koike in October 2025, which limits annual output to a maximum of 26 episodes starting in 2026.

The series recently returned in April 2026 after a three-month hiatus from January to March, debuting the Elbaph arc on April 5. Crunchyroll is currently streaming the arc in Japan. The reduced pace aims to improve pacing and incorporate more manga content while maintaining animation-specific storytelling strengths. Historically, the long-running series has aired weekly since 1999, though the frequency has decreased in recent years.
