Fairy Princess Minky Momo OVA Release Postponed Due to Production Issues
The upcoming Fairy Princess Minky Momo: Akogare no Yume e Magokoro no Duo original video animation has officially announced a delay in its theatrical premiere. The project was initially scheduled to open in Japanese cinemas on November 13, 2026, but the production team confirmed that unforeseen production issues necessitate a postponement. An updated release date will be communicated through the official website and social media channels once finalized.
Directed by Ayumu Watanabe with character design by Hiroshi Watanabe and Mari Tominaga, the film is produced by Ashi Productions with design cooperation from Studio Live. The voice cast features Kurumi Haruki as the titular magical girl, alongside Rie Kugimiya, Yoko Hikasa, and Show Hayami. This new installment marks the first OVA for the franchise since 1994 and serves as a celebration of Ashi Productions' fiftieth anniversary.
Anime News Network reported on September 30 that the Fairy Princess Minky Momo OVA was delayed due to production issues.
