Yen Press Releases Deep-Sea Aquarium Magmell Volume 1

Yen Press has released the first volume of Kiyomi Sugishita’s manga series, Deep-Sea Aquarium Magmell. The story follows Kotaro, a janitor at the world's first deep-sea aquarium located two hundred metres below Tokyo, who dreams of becoming a caretaker. His passion for marine life catches the attention of Director Minato Osezaki, leading to new opportunities within the facility.

The release features educational content supervised by marine biology specialist Koji Ishigaki, providing detailed information on creatures such as giant squids and frilled sharks between chapters. This approach allows the narrative to balance character development with factual learning without disrupting the flow of the work-life drama.

Kevin Steinbach handled the translation while Lys Blakeslee provided lettering for this English edition. The original Japanese series began in 2017 and currently comprises ten volumes. Yen Press has scheduled the second volume for an English release in January.
