Black Clover Season 2 Voice Actors Discuss Asta's Evolution

Gakuto Kajiwara and Dallas Reid, the Japanese and English voice actors for Asta in Black Clover, recently shared insights during a New York Comic Con panel. The event featured a special screening of the second season and live dubbing demonstrations. In a subsequent interview, both performers reflected on their long tenure with the character over five years.

Kajiwara noted that matching Asta’s physical and mental growth has driven his own professional development. He emphasized that the character’s reliance on comrades is not a weakness but a necessary path to strength. Reid described how he adjusts his vocal intensity based on context, moving from urgent shouting to purposeful expression as the narrative progresses. He also highlighted the enduring brotherhood between Asta and Yuno, noting that their rivalry lacks any genuine animosity.
