Gust producer Junzo Hosoi revealed that while he personally wishes to maximize the size of protagonist Karia’s belly in Atelier Karia: The Night Kingdom & the Guide of Memories, the team is prioritizing player feedback over his individual preferences. The game, scheduled for release on February 25, 2027, features a core mechanic where Karia consumes various items, including bombs and synthesized goods, which directly impacts her appearance and abilities. Gust previously conducted a survey between July and August regarding a body transformation system that allows Karia to become visibly plumper or slimmer based on consumption. The overwhelming positive response from players has encouraged the developers to continue refining this feature. Although specific details remain undecided, the studio is working toward a middle ground that satisfies community expectations while maintaining the integrity of the eating-based gameplay loop.
