Solo Leveling: Arise Prequel Webtoon Features Go Gunhee

A new prequel webtoon titled "Hunter Origin" has been released for the Solo Leveling: Arise franchise, focusing on the backstory of Go Gunhee. The story is set approximately seventy years before the main narrative and explores his early life as a child with psychic abilities, including precognition and spirit sight. These powers initially serve as a curse, forcing him to witness impending disasters he cannot prevent.

The episode details Gunhee’s awakening as a Hunter during a dungeon break while attempting to rescue a young girl from a Magic Beast. Following a period of despair where he feels unable to protect others, he is aided by Woo Jinchul. This encounter inspires Gunhee to utilize funds from his position as a CEO to establish the South Korean Hunter Association.

This installment takes place in an alternative universe distinct from the original manhwa continuity. It features alternate versions of characters such as Cha Haein and Sung Jinah. An animated version with full voice acting by Kent Williams is also available on Netmarble’s official website.
