McDonald’s Japan Releases Idolmaster Anime Music Video for Tsukimi Burger

McDonald’s Japan has released an anime music video featuring Chihaya Kisaragi from The Idolmaster franchise. The promotional content coincides with the launch of the Hokkaido Potato Pepper Tsukimi burger on September 24, marking the second phase of the chain's autumn menu rollout. The video showcases a wistful cover of the song "Kondo Itsu Kimi ni Aeru no Ka na," performed by Kisaragi alongside Imadaketsukimitabemi, the mascot character introduced in 2020 to represent the seasonal tsukimi burgers.

The animated short depicts the characters sharing a moon-viewing moment while overlooking Yokohama Bay Bridge during the fall season. This collaboration highlights the traditional Japanese custom of tsukimi, which involves eating hamburgers topped with fried eggs to resemble the full moon. The release serves as a celebration of the current menu items before they are removed from shelves at the end of the season.
