Mashle Live-Action Film Teaser Reveals Mackenyu as Mash, Fukuda Directs

A new teaser visual and video for the live-action film adaptation of Mashle: Magic and Muscles have revealed that actor Mackenyu will portray the protagonist, Mash Burnedead. The project is directed by Yuichi Fukuda, known for previous manga adaptations such as Gintama and Wotakoi: Love Is Hard for Otaku. The film is scheduled to premiere in Japan on March 19, 2027.

The teaser footage depicts Mackenyu’s character receiving a fake facial mark to conceal his lack of magic, alongside scenes of him performing bench presses. Mackenyu stated he spent approximately three years preparing physically for the role. He also noted the challenge of portraying a stoic character who expresses personality through physical strength rather than emotion.

Warner Bros. Pictures and Fuji Television are overseeing production, with CREDEUS handling production duties and Toho managing distribution in Japan.

Anime News Network reported on November 4 that the live-action Mashle film reveals its cast and director. MyAnimeList News announced on November 4 that the series receives a live-action movie adaptation. Anime News Network stated on November 3 that the live-action film is set for a March 2027 release.
