Japanese Manga Titles Have Doubled in Length Over the Last Few Decades
An analysis of nearly 140,000 Japanese manga series found that the average title has more than doubled in length compared to the 1960s, with a particularly dramatic increase beginning in the 2010s. The study analyzed 138,438 Japanese manga titles using data from Japan’s Agency for Cultural Affairs Media Arts Database.
