Cooking with Wild Game Volume 3 Review: Asuta Prepares Wedding Banquet

J-Novel Club has released the English translation of Cooking with Wild Game Volume 3, originally published in Japan by Hobby Japan on June 24, 2015. The light novel follows seventeen-year-old trainee chef Asuta Tsurumi as he adapts to life in the Morga Forest community.

This installment centers on Asuta’s decision to prepare a wedding banquet for Gazraan Rutim and Ama Min after initially refusing the request due to the lack of bonds between their clans. The narrative explores his journey through personal introspection and cultural clashes while managing preparations for one hundred guests over five days.

The story incorporates world-building elements through a visit to a neighboring post town, highlighting tensions with the Suun clan and the fears held by local townsfolk regarding the forest-dwellers. Character development remains central, featuring interactions with Ai Fa, Kamyua Yoshu, and various Ruu clan members as they navigate both culinary challenges and emotional hurdles.
