Abema Selects Three Finalists for Project PRISMation Pilot Anime
Japanese streaming service ABEMA has announced the three finalists from the first open call of its Project PRISMation initiative, designed to support independent animators. The selected creators will receive production funding to develop original short anime pilots scheduled for release in 2027 or later.
The chosen entries include "OXY-HEAVEN" by Waboku, a steampunk fantasy drama set in a postwar ship-nation; "Amneka" by orange, a fantasy comedy about students and a teacher living together in an isolated school; and "Kandy-Killers for Hire" by Dominique Garrow, a dark comedy featuring an assassination startup in a neon city. ABEMA will assist with voice casting, sound, translation, and global promotion for these projects.
This selection follows earlier pilot releases such as "Poppin-Play Kitchen" and "Gluttomy." The project aims to provide a platform where diverse talents can converge to create original animated works.
